Scotland may have secured a routine win over Liechtenstein – a nation with a population barely filling Hampden’s stands – but questions will still linger as the World Cup qualifiers are up next.
A hat-trick from Che Adams and a first international goal for George Hirst helped Scotland record an easy 4-0 win over the minnows of Liechtenstein in Vaduz this afternoon.

Celtic bound Ross Doohan was drafted into goal following Cieran Slicker’s tricky debut as a sub against Iceland but in all honestly Scotland could have played against their opponent without a goalkeeper, such was the lack of attacking threat.
Given the routine nature of the game, many players who have been on the fringes of the starting 11, managed time on the pitch with Lennon Miller getting 90 minutes on his first start for his country.
An important win for Scotland but questions still loom over Steve Clarke has he now prepares for a crucial set of fixtures in September.
