Gonzalo Garcia has been rewarded for his stellar Club World Cup form with a new five-year contract and a permanent promotion to the Real Madrid first team.

Academy graduate Garcia made headlines this summer with his displays in the United States after he scored four goals in six appearances under new boss Xabi Alonso.

The 21-year-old was given his full debut by Alonso’s predecessor Carlo Ancelotti in 2023 and earned four senior appearances earlier this year before Garcia was able to take the Club World Cup by storm with goals against Al-Hilal, RB Salzburg, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund.

It has now resulted in Garcia being able to put pen-to-paper on fresh terms at the Bernabeu until 2030, which is a three-year extension on his previous contract.

Real Madrid have also confirmed forward Garcia has earned a promotion from the club’s Castilla team after he scored 25 times for them in the 2024-25 campaign.
