Inter Milan sign French midfielder Andy Diouf from Lens

Inter Milan have signed French midfielder Andy Diouf from Lens.

The 22-year-old spent two seasons at the Ligue 1 outfit, where he made 68 appearances, scored two goals and was a silver medallist with France at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Diouf, who started his senior career at Rennes before joining Swiss Super League club Basel on loan for the 2022-23 season, admitted he was honoured to move to San Siro.

In an interview on Inter’s website, Diouf said: “Inter is a club with a rich history. As soon as I heard the news, I didn’t think twice: there was no doubt for me about choosing this Club, it’s an honour to be here.

“Being an Inter player means a lot, I’m very proud and I can’t wait to step onto the pitch at San Siro.”

In Switzerland, he made 57 appearances and scored three goals, all in the Conference League, where he was awarded best young player of the competition.

Diouf made his Champions League debut for Lens in autumn of 2023, featuring in their matches against Sevilla and Arsenal.
