Impressive Falkirk sweep aside Dundee United

By November 22, 2025No Comments

Falkirk stunned Dundee United at Tannadice to claim an emphatic 3-0 William Hill Premiership victory.

The brilliant Bairns opened the scoring through Calvin Miller and then made it two before the break courtesy of an inexplicable own goal from goalkeeper Yevhenii Kucherenko.

Veteran striker Brian Graham made it three in the second half, with the scoreline in no way flattering the visitors who were in control throughout.

United made two changes to the team that drew with Hearts before the international break a fortnight ago, with Will Ferry and Craig Sibbald – making his 500th career appearance – coming in for Pan Camara and Dario Naamo.

Bairns boss John McGlynn kept faith with the team that drew with Livingston last time out.

Falkirk stormed into the lead in just the fourth minute. Skipper Brad Spencer played a great ball into the feet of Miller, who hit a shot from the edge of the United box.

Kucherenko looked to have it covered, but the keeper only succeeded in spilling the ball back to Miller, who gleefully smashed home.

The hosts looked rattled and the Bairns carved out another opening shortly after, with Miller turning provider for Kyrell Wilson but, as he pulled the trigger, Kucherenko raced out to block.

The Terrors then had a chance of their own at a corner, but Iurie Iovu’s header flew straight to Falkirk keeper Scott Bain, who easily gathered.

However, his opposite number Kucherenko then produced an absolute howler in the 22nd minute.

Miller fired a corner in from the right and Kucherenko, under little pressure, punched the ball one-handed into the back of his own net.

Falkirk threatened once more when Wilson produced a stunning first-time effort from the edge of the area that flew inches wide.

However, in the 38th minute the Terrors came agonisingly close to reducing the deficit when Amar Fatah got his head on to a Vicko Sevelj cross, only to be denied by the crossbar.

There was a big scare for Falkirk just before the hour mark when the referee was called over to the pitchside monitor after Graham bundled into the back of Krisztian Keresztes.

However, after a lengthy look at the incident on screen, the official showed the veteran striker a yellow card.

And Graham made a more telling contribution in the 63rd minute as he netted Falkirk’s third goal of the afternoon.

After a succession of passes, Miller played a superb ball into the striker’s feet and Graham rounded Kucherenko before calmly slotting into the back of the net.
