Barcelona re-sign Joao Cancelo on loan until end of season

Former Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo has signed for Barcelona on loan until the end of the season.

Cancelo is back at the Nou Camp for a second loan spell, having signed from Al Hilal for the remainder of the 2025-26 campaign.

The Portugal international played 42 times for Barca during the 2023-24 season while on loan from Manchester City.

He then joined Al Hilal from City for the following campaign and has spent 18 months in Saudi Arabia.

A club statement read: “Joao Cancelo is once again a Barca player.

“FC Barcelona and Al Hilal Saudi FC have reached an agreement for the loan of the Portuguese full-back until the end of the season.”
