Bayern Munich defender Konrad Laimer has suffered a calf injury and faces a spell on the sidelines.
The 28-year-old was taken off in stoppage-time of Bayern’s 3-1 Bundesliga victory over Cologne on Wednesday night and manager Vincent Kompany said the player had “felt something” in his calf.
Laimer underwent a scan in Munich on Thursday which revealed he suffered a torn muscle in his left calf which will keep him out for a number of weeks.

The Austria international’s problem adds to a growing list of injury issues at full-back, with Josip Stanisic, Joshua Kimmich and Sacha Boey all out as well.
Kompany will be hoping to find a solution in the position in time for their trip to third-placed RB Leipzig on Saturday.
Bayern Munich issued an update on Laimer’s injury on their website, which said: “FC Bayern will be without Konrad Laimer for the foreseeable future.
“The 28-year-old tore a muscle in his left calf during Wednesday evening’s Bundesliga match at FC Koln. The diagnosis was confirmed in an examination carried out by FC Bayern’s medical unit.”
