Head coach Alberto Gilardino challenged Pisa to approach Serie A leaders Inter Milan with “recklessness” ahead of Friday’s away match.
Inter are unbeaten in their last nine Italian top-flight meetings, but suffered a second-straight Champions League defeat when they lost 3-1 to Arsenal at San Siro on Tuesday.
Pisa are second-bottom in the table but level on points with basement boys Hellas Verona after going 10 games without a win.

“We’ll have to be good, clear-headed and balanced throughout the match, with a great spirit of sacrifice, because we’re facing the top of the league – a team with tremendous technical and physical qualities,” Gilardino told a press conference.
“For our part, we’ll have to be perfect in defence and equally good when we have the ball, playing with courage, character and the desire to take advantage of every opportunity they give us.
“The key words? Recklessness and recklessness.
“We’ll have more than 5,000 fans following us, it’ll be a wonderful spectacle; we hope to make them happy and, above all, bring home some points, because that’s what we need.”
Inter’s previous Champions League loss came at the hands of another English side, Liverpool, in December, also the last game they failed to score in.
Pisa have only secured one victory – a 1-0 win against Cremonese in November – all season since winning promotion but could go three games unbeaten if they follow up their two draws against Udinese and Atalanta.
