It was the Scott Tiffoney show at Dens Park this afternoon, with the winger netting two goals for his side after going through a 13 game goal drought.

Both sides started on the front foot, creating a decent amount of chances in the opening half. Lyall Cameron was unlucky not to give his side the lead on two occasions; the first chance came in the opening 5 minutes as the strikers effort from 25 yards was sent just inches wide through a deflection.

The second was some clever play from the energetic Tiffoney as the winger got the cross from Costello under control, played it neatly to Cameron whose effort from inside the box was sent just shy of the target.

County’s best chance came through Eamon Brophy who forced Trevor Carson to spring into action as the Dundee keeper blocked the former Killie man’s  effort from giving the visitors an early lead.

Jordan McGhee’s header was tipped over the bar by George Wickens to deny the defender.

Tiffoney got the opener on the brink of the half time whistle as Dara Costeloe placed the ball over to the winger who wasted no time in hitting the back of the net for the first time since September.

Into the second half, Luke McCowan’s blistering effort looked as through it was bursting the net but the striker’s hit from 20-yards was just inches wide of the top corner.

Tiffoney stepped up again to hit the back of the net with a strike from 20 yards to double his side’s lead.

Tony Docherty’s side now find themselves five points clear in 6th place of the Premiership table.
