Motherwell scored three second half goals to defeat Livingston and take all three points on the road for the first time in 12 games.
Goals from Nicholson, Spittal and Vale turned this game around to move Motherwell up to 8th in the league table.
It was an electric start at the Tony Macaroni Arena with Livingston taking the lead in just the third minute. Bruce Anderson with a perfect through ball to cut open the Motherwell defence allowed Daniel McKay a strike on goal. Liam Kelly managed to get down quickly to save it but spilt the ball to the feet of Tete Yengi who side footed the ball home.
Livingston controlled the majority of the first half with both Yengi and Anderson spurning chances to double the lead meaning it remained 1-0 into the break.
Stuart Kettlewell’s half time team talk clearly worked wonders with an inspired Motherwell taking the field in the second half.
Sam Nicholson got his side back level with his first Motherwell goal just three minutes after the break. Stephen O’Donnell delivered a perfect ball from the right flank to pick out Nicholson all alone in the box who directed the ball past George in the Livingston net.
Motherwell didn’t stop there and continued applying the pressure onto the Livingston defenders and took the deserved lead in the 71st minute. Blair Spittal with the goal after picking out the top corner with stunning volley from 20 yards.
With just 5 minutes to go things got even worse for the home support. Theo Bair picked out Jack Vale at the back post who headed the ball home to wrap up all three points for the visitors.
It’s a result that leaves Livingston 7 points a drift at the bottom of the premiership table with a tough trip to face St Johnstone next up.
Motherwell now turn their attention to a trip to Ibrox to face Rangers.
