Dundee have announced that the SFA and SPFL have backed plans for a new stadium at Camperdown Park, with a capacity of over 12,500.
This week Dark Blue Property Holdings submitted Planning Permission to Dundee City Council, in what is the latest step forward towards relocating from Dens Park to the new Camperdown Park Campus after 125-years at their current home.
The stadium is expected to have a safe standing area in the home end and will be designed to host music concerts.
SFA Chief Executive Ian Maxwell said of the move:
“Any club that seeks to invest in improving infrastructure to this scale deserves enormous credit. This project is ambitious and one that has been worked on for some time by the owners.
“The SPFL supports efforts to enhance the Scottish football experience for the hundreds of thousands of fans who attend matches on a weekly basis.”
