Each German city being used to host EURO 2024 games has an officially designated ambassador.

Here PLZ Soccer looks at those who represent the cities Scotland will visit in the group stages.

MUNICH

Roman Weidenfeller was  a member of Germany’s 2014 World Cup winning squad.

The goalkeeper joined Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer in 2002 and went on to win two German titles in 16 years with the club.

Annike Krahn was a German defender who was capped 137 times for her country between 2005 and 2016.

She won the World Cup and two Euros, as well as the UEFA Women’s Cup with Duisburg in 2009.

 

COLOGNE

Former Germany goalkeeper Harald ‘Toni’ Schumacher is a Euros winner from 1980.

He earned 76 caps for West Germany and played for FC Koln between 1972 and 1987.

He has been the Bundesliga side’s Vice President since 2012.

 

STUTTGART

Born in Brazil, former striker Cacau became a German citizen during an 11 year spell at Stuttgart.

He played 23 games for the national team, including at the World Cup in 2010.

Shot Put gold medallist Niko Kappel was German Men’s Disabled Sports Personality of the Year in 2016.

Eli Seitz is a gymnast who represents local club MTV Stuttgart. She was a gold medallist at the 2022 European Championships.
