AC Milan crashed out of the Champions League after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Feyenoord in their play-off round second leg to lose 2-1 on aggregate.
Forward Julian Carranza netted in the 73rd minute to level the match and put the Dutch side ahead in the tie, after Theo Hernandez had been sent off for a second yellow card early in the second half for Milan.
Feyenoord had edged the first leg in Rotterdam with a goal inside the third minute from winger Igor Paixao, and Milan hit them even earlier at San Siro.

They scored to level the tie after only 38 seconds. Christian Pulisic collected the ball near the edge of the box after a short corner and swept a cross to the back post where Malick Thiaw was waiting to head it back across goal.
The ball seemed to hang in the air, and there inside the six-yard box was former Feyenoord forward Santiago Gimenez, outmanoeuvring his defender to reach it first and nod past Timon Wellenreuther.
The match turned on a red card in the 51st minute for Hernandez.

The defender had already been booked when he raced into the box on the overlap in pursuit of Rafael Leao’s pass. Givairo Read slid in but made no contact, and after Hernandez fell to the ground he was promptly dismissed for simulation.
Feyenoord won the tie with 17 minutes remaining.
Hugo Bueno’s cross was inch perfect, perfectly flighted to land on the forehead of the arriving Carranza who stole in to power a header beyond Mike Maignan to send the Eredivisie side through.
