Paris St Germain boss Luis Enrique hopes the recent international break has not affected his side’s focus heading into their Ligue 1 clash with Le Havre on Saturday.

PSG will be hoping to make it three league wins in a row following their narrow 3-2 victory over Lyon before the international window.

Le Havre will be confident themselves after four games unbeaten and Luis Enrique says they will need all their players to be at their best to get a win.

He told a press conference: “Given the circumstances, winning is the most important thing.

“We’re aware of the expectations that are placed on us but to be at our best, we need every player. We’re moving forward and winning is what matters the most right now.

“We’ve got our minds set on winning every game and on continuing to improve.

“This will be the first game after an international break and these games are always different because it’s easy for the players to be slightly less focused, but it’ll be important to win tomorrow.”

Desire Doue and Goncalo Ramos got on the scoresheet the last time the two sides met, helping PSG earn a 2-1 home win in April.

Luis Enrique remembers previous meetings have always been difficult.

He added: “They’re not struggling; they’re 12th in the table. I remember it being really tough to face them last season.

“We’re always looking to improve and we want to stay at the top of the league.

“There are eight games left before the winter break and we’re looking forward to getting back to work.”

Full-back Achraf Hakimi was crowned the 2025 African Footballer of the Year at the Confederation of African Football Awards earlier this week.

Hakimi was rated above Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen after helping his side to the Champions League title last term.

Enrique had praise for the man who is currently injured but urged him to keep his standards high.

He said: “I think that he’s played to a very high standard. This is my third year here and he’s been great both in defence and in attack.

“He isn’t just a defender; he does everything well. That’s good for him, and he needs to keep it up, but what matters is to be important for the team. Every player knows that.”
