Connor Barron has aimed a thinly veined swipe at Neil Warnock as he insisted that Aberdeen are “too good” to resort to long-ball tactics.
The Aberdeen midfielder applauded the spirit of the win at Fir Park as Aberdeen claimed their first league win since the beginning of January.
Barron said,
‘We needed it especially after recent weeks. It was a massive three points but it’s just the start of it now we need to go on a run.
‘It’s just the first one ticked off we need to go again I thought it was brilliant today we really controlled the game, we saw it ot at the end and showed great character.
Caretaker manager Peter Leven took the reigns of the first team after Neil Warnock’s departure last weekend after the Dons booked their ticket to Hampden in hte Scottisg Gas Men’s Scottishh Cup Semi Final.
After a vastly improved performance against Motherwell under Peter Leven,
Barron stated,
‘Pete’s been brilliant since he’s come in, he’s been here a while we all know what he’s like and the way he wants to play.
‘I think on Wednesday night we got a bit stuck in between with different managers maybe telling us different things and weren’t all n the same page.
First team coach Peter Leven took the reigns of the first team after Barry Robson was sacked in January, gaining a point at Pittodrie.
The following match at Ibrox would be newly appointed manager Neil Warnock’s first game in charge.
‘We had a good meeting together as a team to realise the quality we’ve got in the team and we need to start using that.
‘We’ve got too good players to put things long and not play nice football, I thought it was a real Aberdeen performance.’
