Cummings wins Young Player of the Month
Hibernian striker Jason Cummings has won the Young Player of the Month award April to add to his earlier September accolade.

The 19-year-old netted in all four Championship matches for the Hibees to take his tally to 17 league goals this season helping to fire the Leith outfit to the play-offs and possible promotion.

The striker scored against Dumbarton, Hearts, Livingston and Alloa to list his side to second in the division and he’s desperate to complete the job and return to the top flight.

“It would mean
everything to score the goals that take Hibs back up,” he said.

“Last season started well for me and ended with the worst thing that has happened in my career, missing that penalty.

“It would be amazing to put that right this year and give something back to the fans.

“It took me a while to get over that penalty miss. I was devastated for days and couldn’t face going out with my mates for weeks. I wasn’t myself at all. I’m normally quite outgoing but I was just gutted and slumping around.

“If anything it has made me stronger. When I watch it back it just drives me on to do better next time. I said to the gaffer at the time, ‘I defo want to take a pen'”
