Glasgow City captain Jo Love will LEAVE the club after Sunday’s Scottish Cup Final against Rangers.
After 14 years and almost 300 appearances and 99 goals, the skipper will depart up on the expiration of her contract.
The 39-year-old midfielder has won eleven Scottish Women’s Premier League titles, six Scottish Cups, and four League Cups.
She also etched her name into City’s history books by being part of the respective squads who reached the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals in 2015 and 2019, with Love scoring the winning penalty against Brøndby to secure a place in that latter season.
Jo Love said: “It’s time for everyone to start something fresh and to see what the next challenge will bring.
“I have stayed at this club for so long because I love the people here. To have experienced so much success with them is something really special.
“There can never be enough thank you to all of the people who have helped me through all the highs and the lows. My family have played a massive part in that, and I found another family with City.”
Chief Executive Laura Montgomery said: “Jo has given our club the past 14 years of her life and also some of our greatest ever memories and biggest achievements.
“It is no coincidence that our success has had Jo Love at the heart of every single bit of it.
“It is of no surprise to any of us in the game that she has gone on to be Scotland’s most-capped outfield international player of all time and an undeniable Glasgow City legend.
“Our club will not be the same without Jo, but she leaves knowing this will always be her family and a place to call home.”
