On-loan Aberdeen defender Max Lowe is set to return to Derby in January, Dons boss Derek McInnes has revealed.
Lowe has become a key figure for the Pittodrie side after making the temporary switch to Scotland in the summer.
But the Aberdeen manager has confirmed Derby boss Frank Lampard will recall the youngster in January.
He said: “Unfortunately Derby want Max back next month which is a blow as he’s been brilliant for us in his time here.”
Lowe said previously he would be happy to stay with Aberdeen until the end of the season after pinning down a place in Derek McInnes’s first team.
He said: “I just want to be playing games and there are two left backs at Derby that would be a problem for me if I was to go back there in January.
“It was frustrating because I got a run of games in the English Championship which was good but Scott Malone came in.
“I took it hard as a young lad, as you would, going from feeling at the top to rock-bottom. If I am playing here then I would be happy to stay here.”
