January is often seen as a month which can define a season for teams but for these players it could be a month which defines their careers. Clubs have taken on their respective big names who’ve have fallen from grace and they’ve now got the chance prove their detractors wrong and rekindle their form.

Rose to promience at Spurs as a tricky winger who was difficult to play against.
His performances earned him a call up to the England national team but he hasn’t been able to replicate that form and fell out of favour at Tottenham. There was also a public spat with fitness coach Nathan Gardiner which hasn’t helped his cause. Pochettino said: “‘He needs to learn about football, about behaviour, about discipline, about a lot of things.”
Newcastle have offered him the chance to treble his wages and rekindle some of the form which saw him called up to Roy Hodgsons’ side.
