Billy King says Rangers can emulate Hearts’ success and finish in the top three of the Scottish Premiership next season.
Rangers are on course to win the Scottish Championship and they could even win it this weekend if they beat Raith Rovers and Hibs lose to St Mirren.
Failing that a win against Dumbarton on Tuesday would secure the title in front of their own fans at Ibrox.
King, on loan from Hearts, helped Robbie Neilson’s men to Championship success last season and, having watched the Midlothian outfit reach the upper echelons of the Premiership, he sees no reason why this current Rangers side can’t do the same.
“I think they would do very well in the league they would definitely be inside the top three or four,” he said.
“The manager will be looking to strengthen as well and you never who will be coming in or going out in the summer so we’ll see what happens.
“If you look at Hearts this season third place looks secured so I definitely think Rangers could be inside the top three with this squad.”
