Steven Naismith is set to return to Hearts on a season-long loan, Press Association Sport understands.
The Scotland international spent the second half of last season at Tynecastle and will return for the whole of the 2018-19 campaign, before his contract expires next summer.
Naismith has been out of favour at Norwich under the management of Daniel Farke, but made 16 appearances in Edinburgh after being attracted to Hearts by Craig Levein in January.
He scored four goals, including one in the 2-1 win over rivals Hibernian towards the end of the campaign, but struggled for full fitness due to a lack of game time before Christmas.
The impending arrival of Naismith will make it 11 players in through the door at Hearts since the end of the season as Levein looks to improve on a disappointing sixth-place finish, but there are likely to be further additions in the coming weeks.
The club is still chasing a goalkeeper following the departures of Jon McLaughlin and Jack Hamilton and recently saw a move for another loan player from last season, David Milinkovic, fall through.
