Inverness CT have confirmed they’ve completed the signing of midfielder Iain Vigurs on a one-year deal.
Vigurs left Motherwell in the summer after a season interrupted by injuries at Fir Park but kept himself fit during the close season playing as a trialist for Inverurie Locos.
The 27-year-old goes straight into the squad for Wednesday’s clash against Partick Thistle.
“It’s a bit strange how it came about as I was working out at the gym when one of the players suggested that [manager] John Hughes might let me train with the team to help me out a bit,” Vigurs told the club website.
“Gym work is fine, but there’s no substitute for spending time with professional coaches and I jumped at the chance.
“I was made very welcome and really like what the gaffer is doing here, so accepting the offer of a contract was an easy decision.
“Caley Thistle has had a couple of really good seasons and I’m keen to be part of another successful season this year.”
Manager John Hughes added: “His fitness levels are surprisingly high and he fits right in with my style of play. He likes to get on the ball and never gives it away. He’s got experience in this league and already knows a few of the players so he’s ready to get stuck right in, which is what we need.”
Vigurs played for the Highlanders between 2006-2009 before a stint with Ross County and then the Steelmen.
