Arbroath moved top of William Hill League One courtesy of a 2-1 home win over Kelty Hearts.

Andy Winter struck the winner 10 minutes from time as the Red Lichties responded well to Saturday’s defeat at title rivals Stenhousemuir.

Scott Stewart fired Arbroath in front in only the third minute for his second goal in three games.

Ross Cunningham, the division’s leading goalscorer, netted his 12th league goal of the season with 15 minutes left.

But Winter clinched it shortly afterwards to condemn Kelty Hearts to a fourth successive defeat.

In League Two, bottom-of-the-table Forfar picked up another point in their battle for survival with a 1-1 draw at Spartans.

Reuben McAllister, on target as the Loons ended a nine-game winless run at relegation rivals Bonnyrigg Rose on Saturday, opened the scoring seven minutes before half-time.

But Cammy Russell levelled 10 minutes after the break to leave Spartans seven points adrift of the play-off places.
