Kevin Holt’s header extended Dundee United’s unbeaten start to the Scottish Championship season to a dozen matches but the league leaders were held to a 1-1 draw by Inverness.
The Tangerines had scored 15 and conceded none in racking up four successive wins but Caley Thistle came close to opening the scoring in the first half as Jack Walton denied Billy McKay from close range.
Holt was denied by a fantastic save from Mark Ridgers at the other end before Inverness took a 50th-minute lead as Cameron Harper’s cross was converted by Nathan Shaw, who fired low beyond Walton.
The hosts were level within six minutes as Holt rose highest to powerfully head home Kai Fotheringham’s floated corner, but they were unable to find a winner as the sides shared the spoils.
