St Johnstone remain five points clear at the top of the William Hill Championship despite being frustrated in a goalless draw at rock-bottom Ross County.
Josh McPake was twice denied by Trevor Carson and when the Ross County goalkeeper was beaten in stoppage time by Adama Sidibeh’s strike at the back post, the hosts were bailed out by the woodwork.
Ten-man Partick Thistle, though, squandered the opportunity to narrow the gap on the Saints after seeing a two-goal lead wiped out in a 2-2 draw at Queen’s Park.
Ben Stanway’s low strike and Euan Murray’s own goal put Partick two up after 16 minutes but Sebastian Drozd netted a rebound after Josh Fowler’s penalty just before the half hour was saved.
Partick had to play the entire second half with 10 men as Oisin Smyth was dismissed for two bookable offences and Murray atoned for his earlier gaffe by heading home the equalising goal after 82 minutes.
Arbroath remain four points behind Partick in third after Lewis Strapp’s last-gasp header earned Airdrieonians a 1-1 draw at Gayfield Park.
Substitute Arran Pettifer struck midway through the second half but after Arbroath were reduced to 10 men by Jack Wilkie’s red card, Strapp headed home in the last minute as the spoils were shared.
Andrew Tod and Barney Stewart scored as Dunfermline won 2-1 won at Raith, for whom Dylan Easton scored a consolation.
Anton Dowds’ opener was cancelled out by Arron Lyall as Ayr drew 1-1 at Morton.
