St Johnstone resumed pole position in the William Hill Scottish Championship after cruising to a 3-0 win over Arbroath at McDiarmid Park.
Goals from Jack Baird, Jason Holt and Stevie Mallan made it three wins from three for Simo Valakari’s side, who had been knocked off top spot after Raith beat Dunfermline on Friday night.
Baird’s 31st-minute header got Saints off the mark against the visitors, who started the day in third place and also unbeaten, then Jason Holt doubled their lead on the hour mark.
Mallan’s 71st-minute penalty wrapped up a comfortable win for Saints as they continue to adjust to life out of the top tier.
Ross County are finding it much harder to adapt and they remain winless after a 3-1 home defeat to Partick Thistle.
The visitors arrived in Dingwall at the bottom of the table, but took the lead through a fierce drive from Ben Stanway after 28 minutes before Logan Chalmers doubled their advantage just after the break.
Connor Randall reduced the deficit for County, but any hopes of salvaging at least a point ended in stoppage time when a Steven Lawless spot-kick sealed Thistle’s impressive win.
Morton and Ayr both remain winless after they shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at Cappielow.
Eamonn Brophy’s 23rd-minute penalty for the hosts was cancelled out by a Kevin Holt header early in the second half, then another header from Nick McAllister four minutes later put the visitors in front.
Brophy struck again three minutes from time when he nodded in a Nathan Shaw cross to earn his side their third draw in as many games.
There was a similar story at the Excelsior Stadium where Airdrie and Queen’s Park also remained winless after a 1-1 draw.
Euan Henderson lashed the home side in front in the 52nd minute with a brilliant 25-yard free-kick, but an equally cool finish from Tyreece McDonnell grabbed a point for the Spiders 10 minutes from the end.
