Harry Kane scored again as Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich continued their 100 per cent start to the Bundesliga season with an emphatic 5-0 defeat of Werder Bremen.
Former Crystal Palace star Michael Olise also maintained his strong first impression at Bayern with a double while Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry completed the scoring in a one-sided clash at the Weserstadion.
Victory gave Kompany’s side their fourth win from four games – and took their goal tally to 16 in the process – as they bid to regain their title this term.
Bayern continued where they left off in midweek having thrashed Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 in their Champions League opener. They dominated in all departments and chalked up 25 attempts on goal – seven on target – while the hosts did not manage a single shot.
The visitors threatened early as Konrad Laimer rattled the crossbar and both Kane and Jamal Musiala had efforts blocked.
England captain Kane also fired over from a free-kick before teeing up the opener for summer signing Olise after 23 minutes.
Olise then turned provider to create the second 11 minutes later, beating three Bremen players and serving up a simple chance for Musiala to finish.
Kane and Musiala had further chances before the former Tottenham talisman claimed his 10th goal of the season just before the hour following more good work by Olise.
The fourth goal quickly followed as Olise drove a shot into the top corner and Bayern had five when Gnabry tucked in from another Kane pass.
Kane brought a save from Michael Zetterer with a header but both he and Olise left the field as Kompany took the chance to give run-outs to Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane in the latter stages.
Sane had an attempt on goal but missed the target before providing for Musiala, whose effort was saved by Zetterer.
Bayern went close to a sixth in the last minute as Joshua Kimmich hit the bar following a quick break.
