Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone now wants his side to produce on a consistent basis after snatching a dramatic win at Paris St Germain in midweek.
Angel Correa scored a stoppage-time winner as Atletico won 2-1 at the Parc des Princes in the Champions League on Wednesday.
It continued Atleti’s winning run after back-to-back losses to Lille and Real Betis last month with a laboured cup victory over part-timers Vic followed by last week’s 2-0 triumph over Las Palmas.
Simeone’s side are back in action on Sunday as they travel to Mallorca, who were eighth heading into this weekend’s fixtures, in LaLiga.
Simeone told reporters: “The most difficult thing is to maintain the consistency, to maintain the desire we showed in the games against Vic, Las Palmas and Paris. We are working on that.
“On Sunday we are going to face a side that are playing very well, who are brave, have many tools and are showing the league the position they are in (is merited).
“At home they are very strong. Knowing all that, we will try to play a game that we know can hurt them.”
Simeone, who will reach the 13th anniversary of his appointment next month, says his philosophy has not changed.
He said: “The idea has been clear for 12 years and we always hope to perform to the maximum level.
“Sometimes we cannot meet what we have demanded but it is clear there is a universal plan of a team that works as a unit. It is important people identify with that.”
