David Alaba faces another spell on the Real Madrid sidelines after picking up a calf injury.
The Austria international, 33, has not featured in Real’s three games so far at the Club World Cup in the United States.
“After the medical tests carried out on our player David Alaba by the Real Madrid medical services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the soleus of his left leg,” the club said in a statement.

The former Bayern Munich defender was sidelined for over a year after sustaining a torn anterior cruciate ligament against Villarreal in December 2023.
Alaba returned in January and made 14 appearances before the end of the season. He has one year left on his Real contract.
