Sergio Conceicao will target his first Serie A win since taking charge of AC Milan when the Rossoneri travel to face struggling Como on Tuesday night.
Conceicao’s men looked to have kick-started their season after clinching a dramatic Italian Super Cup win over city rivals Inter last week, only to suffer a frustrating draw with Cagliari at the San Siro on Saturday.
The result left Milan four points adrift of the top six and badly needing to get back on track against Cesc Fabregas’s side, who sit one point above the drop zone but earned a creditable weekend draw at Lazio.
Conceicao, who did not stage a pre-match press conference, is expected to name the same side that was held by Cagliari, having reported no new injuries in his squad.
Fabregas, who hopes the recent win over Lecce coupled with the Lazio result signals a better second half of the season for his newly-promoted side, warned of more “aggressive” opponents under Conceicao.
The Portuguese chief made an immediate impression by guiding them to their Super Cup win in which they hit back from 2-0 down to clinch victory thanks to Tammy Abraham’s injury-time strike.
Fabregas said: “Milan are a strong team with great players in the squad, after the arrival of Conceicao on the bench something has changed in their game approach and they are more aggressive.
“I think they will try to put us in difficulty, but we are preparing and we will be ready to play at our best as always. We will try to have the same approach to the match we had against Inter.”
