Motherwell keep their distance from the bottom two by six points after a convincing win over Ross County tonight.

The home side got themselves ahead within the opening 10 minutes after Andy Halliday steered Theo Bair’s cross into the back of the net, ticking off his first goal for the Steelmen.

The hosts kept their foot pressed firmly on the gas with Blair Spittal doubling his side’s lead after just 20 minutes as he drilled the ball beyond George Wickens.

On two occasions Theo Bair was one on one with the county keeper and on those two occasions he hasn’t quite managed to slip it into te back of the net.

Motherwell almost had a third within 25 minutes as Theo Bair drilled one into the back of the net but the striker was marginally offside.

The Canadian deservingly extended his side’s lead futher just a few moments later from the spot as he sent George Wickens the wrong way giving the Fir Park side a healthy lead going int the break.

Blair Spittal’s stunning strike got Motherwell their fourth goal of the nght and his second of the night getting his goal tally up to nine for the season so far.

Finally, on his debut Jack Vale netted the fifth anf final goal of the evening aas he calmly rolled the ball into the back of theh net in added time.
Ross County will head to Ibrx next week to face Rangers on Valantines day. As for Motherwell they’ll make the journey to Cappielow to face Greenock Morton in teh Scottish Cup.
