Philppe Clement will take charge of Rangers for the first time this weekend at Ibrox against Hibs, and by his side will be his newly appointed assistant coach, Stephan Van Der Heyden.

But who is the new face in the Ibrox dugout?

54 year old Van Der Heyden spent the majority of his playing career in the Netherlands and France. He was also part of the Belgium squad that travelled to USA ’94.

He retired from playing football in 2003 but later returned as a coach in 2010.

He spent time at Sporting Lokeren, Club Brugge and FK Vardar Skopje from Macedonia before joined the Jordan national team as their head coach.

Most recently in 2021, Van Der Heyden was appointed as the assistant coach of Kerala Blasters from the Indian Super League for the 2020/21 season.

Both men first worked together at Club Brugge in 2011 and have now come together once again in the hopes of becoming a successful duo in Glasgow.
