Barcelona have tied down promising defender Hector Fort to a new two-year contract.

The 17-year-old has signed a deal that will run until the summer of 2026.

It has been a breakthrough year for the versatile full-back, making 10 appearances for the LaLiga giants, where he came through the youth system.

His debut came in the Champions League against Royal Antwerp while he made seven league appearances and played twice in the Copa del Rey.

He will now aim to build on that going into next season under a new manager following Xavi’s exit.
